Dr. Pratik Bhandari
Research Scientist & Director of Research
Pratik is the founder and Director of Research at NCCS. He studies how the brain/mind processes sound, speech, and language. His research spans across predictive language processing in typical and atypical populations, developmental disorders, and executive functions in conditions of decreased sound tolerance (such as misophonia and hyperacusis).
He brings his academic and research experience from across different research institutes and universities from India, Spain, and Germany to Nepal. Focusing on underrepresented, non-WEIRD, diverse communities, he aims to expand the scope of cognitive science in resource-constrained settings like that of Nepal. In addition to the work at NCCS, he is also affiliated at the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Bir Hospital, Kathmandu as an Adjunct Faculty Member.
